Companies like Amazon and FedEx use robots to navigate cities and sidewalks for efficient and timely deliveries. This technology is changing the logistics of package delivery, providing a glimpse into the future of automated last-mile transportation.

Hyperloop Technology is nearly here : This technology, including high-speed units traveling in low-pressure tubes, might revolutionize long-distance travel, reducing travel times significantly. Hyperloop is one of the most trending advancements in the field of transportation. A hyperloop pod can travel at a speed of 700 mph. Projects are developing at various locations across the globe, and we expect to see real deployments between major cities across the United States within the next 20 years.

Autonomous Vehicles : The fight over autonomous vehicles is also heating up. Virtually every big-name auto manufacturer and startup is vying to create the first mass-produced wave of self-driving vehicles. Imagine getting into your car, punching in an address, sitting back, and letting the car take you to your destination without you having to touch the steering wheel or navigate traffic. That used to be an unattainable dream for decades. Now, it’s becoming a reality.
Companies like Google, Waymo, Uber, Tesla, and Ford are all developing machine learning, AI, and deep learning platforms that help cars calculate their environment in real-time and act accordingly. These vehicles are processing millions of data points every minute through a variety of sensors, software, and GPS. Sensors constantly monitor the environment, such as people crossing streets, surrounding vehicles, and animals darting into traffic, and make split-second calculations on how to respond safely and efficiently. Additionally, GPS monitors routes to find the fastest way to a destination, upcoming accidents, or bottlenecks that can be avoided.
The biggest leap in autonomous vehicles right now is safety. There are countless scenarios that occur on the road. How can a car react to each one as a rational human would? Every automaker and startup is training these cars to drive safely and with the same reasoning as a human being. Although in their early stages, autonomous vehicles have made strides in transportation technology that will have a significant impact on the overall future of how we get around.

Drones will Transport productsDrones for delivery services will be the future mode of transporting goods for short-distance delivery. Drones offer efficient and environmentally-friendly alternatives in urban areas. By avoiding challenges such as traffic bottlenecks and parking restrictions, drone delivery can become the preferred choice for on-time delivery of time-sensitive goods, emergency aid, medical supplies and more.

Maglev Trains  :  Among the best news for trains is China’s modern maglev train (short for “magnetic levitation”), which is designed to carry travelers at speeds up to 370 mph—more than 150 mph faster than the world’s fastest passenger trains currently in operation. Created by the China Railroad Rolling Stock Corporation, the train will use electromagnets to suspend just above the track and provide forward drive, eliminating the friction caused by metal wheels on conventional trains, as well as the wear and tear and associated maintenance costs.

These maglev trains also generate less noise and vibration, making life easier for people living close to train tracks—not to mention passengers and crew members.
